Mindfulness Meditation Practitioner and Teacher
emotional wellness, Addiction and recovery Counselor
Hello! I'm Charity, a meditation practitioner and teacher, and founder of Meditating Together. Looking back over my life there were times I used the tool of meditation without knowing it. As a young child I used body scans to fall asleep. In my early 20's I started a sitting meditation practice however, like many people, I believed I was doing it incorrectly or could not do it at all, which resulted in giving up.
Years later I was brought back to a sitting meditation practice by way of exercise. Having been a runner for a number of years, I stopped. The only thing I missed about running was the meditative results I felt after a run. I began meditating in a traditional sitting meditation form and developed a strong practice. I have a Master's from the first and only Master's degree program in the United States for Mindfulness Studies at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. In addition, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, a certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling from the University of Massachusetts, Boston and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADCII).
I combine the three fold education by bringing a mind, body and spirit connection with my meditation practice and teachings. My meditation teaching is for the everyday person who wants better well-being for him or herself. My approach is secular and not affiliated with any religion. I look forward to working with you!
My individual counseling of Emotional Wellness, Addiction or Recovery is offered through the modality of mindfulness.

"Charity, I want you to know that for the last week I have been listening/doing your bedtime meditation and I've been falling asleep and staying asleep! I always have a hard time going down but 6/7 nights, I've fallen asleep before the 7 or so minutes was up!I am loving your video and so happy that you are living and sharing this life."

"if someone were to have told me a couple years ago that meditation would be part of my daily routine, I would've rolled my eyes and laughed at the absurdity of their remark. I was, in my mind, the type of person who just wasn't meant to practice that kind of thing....after all, I'm a bit high stung...and I am most definitely your typical ADHD adult..going a million miles a minute. All The Time. Enter Charity Collier. She took the time to explain to me what meditation is all about-something I though I knew, but clearly did not. From her, I've learned about how helpful and soothing and yes EASY (for even someone like me!!) it is. Although I do it during the day sometimes. I've found it most beneficial for me to do it in the evening about an hour or so before bedtime. At first, it was just a way to decompress and help relax my mind after a long stressful day. But after practicing meditation for several months now, I've begun experiencing other wonderful benefits as well. I feel more centered that I ever have been and I feel like I know myself so much better and more deeply than I ever thought I could. Thank you Charity - you have impacted my life on so many levels - your soul is pure, your knowledge is a blessing."
